Songkran in Chaiyaphum

songkran-in-chaiyaphum-sand-castle-making.jpg

It's hot, its Songkran, and that's the best excuse for a water party there is! The province of Chaiyaphum is in the southern part of Isaan, and I headed off to enjoy Songkran there.

I might have been late for the sand castle competition but I think my Egyptian Pyramid with smiley face Sphyinxes and genuine brick texture would have won hands down.

Mostly though it's about dancing and drinking and splashing water. The girls going after the boys, the boys going after the girls and the Katoeys going after the rich old men!

Thankfully I have a water proof camera, if only the lens could see through talcum powder I could make a decent video. Oh well. There's always next year.
